i would just get a new cv-shaft. I went to my local auto parts place and a new one is about $60 for right and $80 for left or vice versa...either way it came out to be $140 for both sides with lifetime warranty.
I went this way because at the dealer it is $175 each refurbished and $350 brand new each.

Theres a vendor on here who has all oem parts for way discounted.. you could even get in touch with him. i cant think of his name right now for the life of me.. although he had a thread about his parts not too long ago.
Ok guys so I understand, when I brake I get this bumpin' feelin' on the pedal. Like its hitting something. So i reckon that's def. a boot problem because of the leak i saw when i took of the tire off.
You guys suggest buying new axles ?
Or CV shaft ? ... and what are the difference between these two parts on the vehicle?
also I got the service done on my car from the dealer when i first got it, and they repaired it. Should they be liable for repairs ? .. this was done 4 years ago.
thanks

i have never done this to my car myself.
To get an accurate cost of having a shop do it, you will need to call your local shops and ask, because it will vary a great deal. But I believe it would be safe to assume that by doing it yourself you could save a few hundred dollars, and twice as much if you choose to replace both CV shafts while you're at it (which I would recommend).
A word of caution: If you do it yourself, be sure to loosen the spindle nut before you jack the car up (you'll have to remove the wheel's center cap), as the torque needed to loosen it is sufficient to pull the car off the jack stand.

probably the cheapest you'll find is 1.5 hours labor or maybe 1 hour, so ur looking at 60-100 minimum for labor plus 60-70 parts for one cv shaft
i remember doing mine for $60 labor at a local mechanic (very cheap)
i was in a hurry and my friend was graduating that same morning so i ran to the parts store grabbed the cv shaft and took it to the mechanic ,he put it in about 15 minutes
in other words u would save about 60-100 buks doing it urself (each side)

I would def. wanna do it myself, however this would be my first install of this kind.
I'll see what a shop tells me first. I would rather learn how to do this myself.
Thanks for the advice.

I think on the CL's on the driver side we have like an intermediate shaft as well. But it should not pose a problem really. Tools you will need: Ball joint separator (rent or buy from autozone for $10), 36mm Socket for axle nut and a bigass breaker bar or pipe, jacks, stands, and i believe 14 and 17mm sockets, and a hammer and screwdriver of sorts to unstake the axle nut. Oh and don't forget patience with about 2 - 3 hrs of your time if it is your first time. Download this: http://downloads.hondatech.info/Auto...e%20Manual.zip
