How Many....How Many....How Many..???

How many quarts of tranny fluid does it take to refill your Tranny if you were to flush the bad fluids out completely?

What I am saying, if the tranny has NO fluids in it, how many quarts does it take to fill it up?

Pep boys told me 12 !!!! Is that right? Cause I never put in that much when I did mine, and the dip stick seems so inaccurate due to the shape of it. It tends to come back up messy, so the reading is inaccurate to me. But I believe I only put in like 3-4.

I'd say 8 quarts after a full flush.

Woah, I just went to pep boys and had them check on thier computer (icause i thought 12 was way too much)...and he said 3.1 to be exact.

So what the heck?

So the manual says it takes 7.8 quarts of fluid to fill the tranny? If so, than thatz the number I'll stick with.

That is after a full drain, a flush will remove more fluid, esp if replacing the filter.

u cannot replace the filter w/o removing the tranny, and cracking it open. the torque conver holds around 3qts by it self so u will never ever ever get all 7.6qts out of the tranny at one time. ur best bet would be to drain and fill 3 times and that is all u can do. acura hooks up to the pressure ports and back flushes everything, but they never get it all out of the t/c. good luck.
