high flow cat questions..

i've heard talk about the check engine light coming on if the o2 sensor is not plugged back in..

dont know if its the same for other cats, but mine doesnt come with a placed for the o2 sensor so i just tied it to a part above the heat shield where it is safe from any debri..

as for the last 5 weeks the light came on once and has since shut off.. i didnt have chance to take it to the mechanic because of the snow(north east/18 inches o da white stuff), and i think is the reason it came on..

my question is should i make a hole in the piping after the cat like i was going to do or just wait to see if it comes on again??

I would assume that putting a hole in the piping would be a bad idea. Wouldn't it be just like an exhaust leak?

not if it's made to the size of the o2 sensor and then sealed..
of course i couldnt do this myself. After i installed it i took it to my mechanic for the only thing i had him install, an aem fuel pressure reg., and he said he would do that just to be safe..

I havent had any problems so I think I just gonna leave it alone for now

i was just wondering if i was doing any damage by doing this..
