Help removing 97 Press Rotors

I order some slotted/drilled rotor from iRotor....it came in about a week ago. I was gonna put it one yesterday and found out that it was a press rotor...i've never work with that before. Well i barrow a side sliding hammer from my brother...and i broke that before i can get half way out on one side. >=(

my question is....is there another (easier) way to pop that hub out? Dustbuster i know u have a 97 and the same rotors....how did u do yours?

yes that is coorect ihave to had mine sent out to be machined pressed on and off due to that they are pressed rotors

it should run you about 20 a rotor to get them pressed on and the new ones put on , so 40 for both on and off

Yeah,

They're a real BITCH! :thumbsdn:

I ended up taking mine over to the local Honda dealer and had them install the front rotors and pads for $260.

I last changed the front rotors (with the help of my brother in law) about 2 years ago. It took us five hours because we had to take the suspension apart in order to get the hubs off. I don't even remember exactly how we did it.

IMO: The $260 spent over at Honda this time was definitely worth it.

Nope!

They're rotor-over-hub design (like the rear brakes). Much easier to do. Not pressed on, either.

It's a carry over from the 1990-1997 Accord design. All front rotors were the "press-on" type.

Starting with the 1998 Accord, the CL began using the rotor over hub design.

I got the Axxis Metal Master pads, and so far, they're great!

I had PBR Metal Master pads with my old set of rotors. They performed well, but gave off a tons of dust.

The Axxis pads are MUCH less dusty!
