Help H22a Engine Swap Emergency!!!

I nees help guys!! I blew my 97 2.2 engine and I need a new one. So I am thinking about going with a H22A since I need to swap my engine. The thing is that I have a automatic so I was told by my friend that the H22A prelude engine will fit but that the ECU's are for manuels. Help please.... I just need an engine for my baby... Im only going with a H22A is bc I heard that it bolts in perfectly without any complications and I was thinking it is probably cheaper then the stock motors due to the higher demand thus higher supply. Please help.

thanks in advance

I need all the suggestions you guys can give me? Is it possible to do a H22A swap into a automatic without changing to manuel? I dont have that much money? Maybe only close to 2500 and I dont know how to do it myself. Which ECU's will I use?

thanks

the block should (90% sure) bolt up to your auto tranny and same ECU. you'd wanna use a 4spd auto tranny ecu from a prelude though, otherwise you're car won't run as well as it should. what city you in?

The auto tranny will bolt up directly... that would be an interesting combination!! The ecu should always be changed when changing the engine... the prelude and cl use 2 different ecu's anyway... regardless of the tranny. But if you go with a 5-speed, your gonna need some clutch stuff, different brake pedal, axels from a 5-speed, i'm sure other stuff... but you'll get better gas mileage and it'll be faster than with the auto... but that does seem like a good idea... let us know what you decide... and give Ross (rmstoico) a shout for the engine!!

obd is on board diagnostics gen 1 or gen 2. i think gen 2 started in 97. gen 1 is better for racing because it is more modifiable and has wider perameters i believe.

The best way to go with the H22a is to swap to a manual and you need to swap the ecu. the manual is more enjoyable and you will have a lot of fun with the power.

How much for the ECU rmstoico

you also may want to check out www.okinawaimportmotorsports.com they carry any jdm motor with 40,000 or less miles. they also have package prices that include motor, tranny, ecu, and wiring harness. check them out, they are good friends of mine and they do quality work.
