I need your help guys. Well, let me get straight to the point. My engine light came on and I went to Autozone to get it checked out. The code they gave me was PO 1298 and PO 1457 or 1454 (can't read the hand righting). Any way I think he said that the 14** was no vaccum for fuel or something like that (pretty much if you don't have a gas cap type thing which i am not worried about cus that did happen and I probably didn't clear the code). The other is IDM Failure. What the heck is that? That would be my main concern. I looked online and couldn't find it. Also the code comes from Ford's code or something like that from what I saw online. Thanks in advanced

check it with niedejb's code check with a paperclip. a lot easier. but no vacum for fuel sounds like a egr problem no?

 

Yeah, I have a '99 3.0 and periodically I get a P1457 code as well. It has something to do with the emissions system, possibly the gas cap, but maybe a sensor as well. The car runs fine, same gas mileage, etc. so I don't really worry about it. I have a code reader so I just clear the code when the engine light comes on. Don't know about the other code.
