Headunit and remote start??

Hey guys,

2 things, when I remove the stock headunit and install the aftermarket deck, should I remove any of the fuses to prevent blowing any, and if so which fuse should I remove?

Second, I have an Astrostart (astroflex) remote starter, how the heck do i use it and have my defrost come on at the same time? Someone said just turn on the defrost before I just the car off, but because the defrost, heat, a/c is all digitilized I believe it shuts off automatically when you turn the car off, it's not like turning a knob for your defrost and leaving it on...any idea's how to get the remote start and defrost to work on start up?

Your correct, the button is not a "press" and "depress" button like the seat warmers.
Your not going to be able to turn the defrost on unfortunately. Unless you create some sort of crazy robotic arm that will push it for you in the morning.

Actually (this goes for 97's at least) if you have the front defroster on before you turn off the car, it will turn back on when you start up again--just like the temperature and fan settings remain the same. However, this will not work for the rear defroster...hope this helps!

Pimp of the burgh, yeah that's me. Morning whoring easy there

I don't have a specific remote start to name, since I have a viper alarm with remote start. Do you have a 97, or 98-99. The RS would be different for the 2 sets of years. Let's start there. And I def want pics of the keyhole AND climate control, you ever get that one done? I'll help you find one

For future reference, I don't check all the threads on here, PM works too

I'll see if i can snag a picture of the key hold - its nice but i haven't started on the climate control yet.

i have a 98 3.0 I'd love to keep the stock remote but add autostart function if thats even possible.
