alright guys, i dont know if anyone has noticed this, but when i drive at night, my headlights (non-high beams) are freaking weak! is this because the stock lightbulbs suck cuz its old? i dont want to put in an HID kit (no $$). i was just thinking about changing the bulbs to newer stock ones...or should i go for "white" lights. but i heard those burn out quick.

this weak headlight thing is getting really annoying. its so bad sometimes, at pitch dark area, i can only see like 5 feet MAX in front of me...

 

if you want white, you want to go for polar white or else it will just be the amber color stock bulbs have. they burn out quick due to improper installation. but if you install it well...it could last a year or two...depends. make sure you dont touch the bulb and have gloves on...the reason it burns out is because people get moisture/oil/dirt on it and it heats up and blows up the bulb.

 

just go to your local autozone and pick up a pair of silverstars or philips blue vision or something

 

but do you guys know why my stock ones are soooo weak? ive seen other stock first gens with stock lights and they are waaay brighter than mine..

 

I always use blue vison when not using HID

 

maybe because of oxydation on your lenses,.. you might want to wet sand them and get yourself some silverstars. It was like that when I bought my CL and after wetsanding and silverstars its a hell of a difference...

 

wetsanding and polishing, dont forget.

you want to start with about 1000grit and get it smooth, than 1500grit to make it even smoother, and then buff with an abrasive polish. Meguiars and Mothers sell something like it, Platic polish. The polishing will take a while, depending on how well you did the wet sanding.

 

When wetsanding, I usually work my way up to 2000 grit to get rid of everything and make it smoother... It makes the polishing easier.

 

Do a 9005 conversion and add a set of good driving lights.
that's what I have and the light output is excellent.

 

well when i look at my headlights, they are clear...no signs of oxidation...unless its inside where the bulbs are? lol. maybe i just need new bulbs...

 

just a thought,check your batt for a good connection/corrosion.maybe your not getting enough juice.......
