Can I take off that ugly cover in front of the headers that says HOT? I don't have aftermarket headers, I just wanna take that damn thing off. Does it have to stay there if i have stock headers or can I take it off?

 

yeah...u can take em off, but the stock exhaust manifold is UGLY!!!!

 

trust me, you'd rather look at the cover than the manifold.

If the cover bugs you that much, take a fine wire brush, clean it up and put a coat of stove or engine paint on it.

 

haha i took it off just to look at it and it looks like someone took the manifold, dipped it in shit, let it dry, then put it back on i think i'll paint it! Can I use stove/engine paint to do the 2.3 VTEC on the top?

THAT is actually an acurate description!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I painted my cover, as well as a few other things in the engine bay, with the paint I had left over from painting my brakes. It's a huge improvement. Just make sure you sand and prime it first.
