Not much with either. If you are comparing a full catback to quality headers they are probably pretty close. I would choose exhaust because it improves the appearance, sound, and performance to some degree.

Yea, i was comparing quality headers or exhaust. i agree that exhaust is good because it can be seen, but i want a sleeper look... maybe i'll just do the piping. does the stock muffler constrict the airflow if i only change the piping?

I say just do both. u can get a non stainless steel muffler like the flowmaster for less than $100 bucks. The guy might give u a break on labor if u were doing it at different times.

If you keep the same stock muffler you will not see much change in performance. For a sleeper try and get a free flow muffler with the same type duel tip.

Get the headers first.

u need a header w/ A CAT BACK EXHAUST. together they make more power. add an intake and all 3 together will result in a nice power gain and improved accel. especially after 4k rpms. get an exhaust first. so ur stock header can breather better and if u got an intake it will help also. i would go in this order
intake, exhaust, header

Headers will give you more torque (if you get 4-2-1) and exhaust will give up more high end horsepower .. typically

Each one by itself will do basically nothing to increase performance (meaning your sleeper look will not impress anybody if your trying to race them).

You'll only get noticable gain with all three I/H/E.

I notice a gain in torque with just the intake. Dunno about you. But my acceleration is much improved especially in first gear you can feel that torque.
