Got the Headers... Now What?!?!

Hey guys/gals,

It's been a while... lots of hecktic changes goin on @ work; late nights, blah blah blah...

Anyways, I bought OBX stainless steel 2-piece headers.... thanx to everyone's great advice last time around and had them installed.

IT SOUNDS NICE! I feel a little more power... yes I said little... I can feel the nice build-up and then the almost immediate blockage when all the exhaust hits the CAT!

What do you guys/gals think?.... performance CAT and replace the pipes leading to the back with a larger diameter???

Can't wait for all the replies... @ Acura-cl.com, you can't go wrong... especially with all the imagination with the 1st Gen'ers

well if you only have headers on then you should get an intake and then get an exhaust. what most people on this forum have done is to get a brand name muffler and have a shop weld it on to custom piping usually 2.5inches in diameter with a racing cat. I have a tanabe hyper medallion with 2.25" piping and i am getting a racing cat put on soon.

I'll try that, thanx!

Guess I'm gonna do both mods at once... Any idea if an emission test is still passible after I perform these mods?

[I am still taking suggestions ]

I don't know about Canada, but I'm in California, which is one of the more strict US states about emissions stuff. Here you'll have emissions problems if you install an aftermarket cat. Also, your header will be illegal if you don't hook the oxygen sensor back up. Most muffler/piping mods are ok as long as they're downstream of the cat. Hell, in California you won't pass a smog check if your check engine light is on.
