The day has come... I traded in my '98 2.3 last week, has almost 105k miles. Got a baby on the way so I need to have 2 more doors. Got $3k for it. Considering it needed new tires, the A/C recharged and the timing belt replaced, I think I got a good trade. I got a 2003 VW Jetta GLI. Has 200h.p. V6, 6-speed, 17inch. wheels, monsoon stereo, sunroof, heated/ leather seats. Got a pretty good deal. The car is in absolutly mint condition and has 35k miles on it. I do miss the sleak lines of the CL, but having the V6 is so much nicer. I had a '06 TSX as a loner car for 2 weeks last year and in my opinion thats the best N/A 4 cylinder in the world and it still doesn't come close to the GLI's V6. Having that low end torque makes for such effortless driving. Although I was never very active on this forum (especially lately) I did check in often and got alot of great tips and ideas from you guys! I've been looking at a VW forum and it's just not the same! Instead of 2.3 vs 3.0 it's VR6 vs 1.8T LOL. Always in competition! But I'm happy with the VW, and its built like a tank. I looked for a TL for awhile but could not find the right one for the right price. So let me know what you guys think of my new choice. Since our 1st gens. are really starting to age, I sure some of you are thinking new car too. So give me som eof you in-put!!

why?(it's kinda a cl forum) i got an 07 tl-s and am still dumping $$ in my cl. to better phrase his comment, i'm gonna keep my cl until it's totalled,blows up or is ran into the ground.(whichever comes first) i love the styling of the 1g........

ya, they definitely don't have the styling of the CL... they are much more plain. but, the interior is top notch. every inch of the inside right down to the stitching of the leather is quality. not that the CL was junk, they were nicer than most, even new cars today. but the Jetta has it beat. and i always liked how the dash looked at night in the CL... but I think the VW has that beat too, cool blue and red dials look pretty sweet. But please don't get me wrong everyone... these two cars are like apples and oranges, the CL being the apple thats 5 years older than the orange. Maybe Acura will someday build another coupe... Wouldn't surprise me, look at how chevy did away with the camaro and now its coming back and i'm sure its gonna be a hit. And i think its safe to assume that honda/acura is smarter than gm/chevy.

 

but that was your hazing. that was like a "test" to see if you'd turn into e-thug. nothing personal,you gotta have thick skin in here. if we don't talk smack about you then you should be worried. there is much love around here for the cl.(even when the 3.0 tranny goes )

well if I wasn't buying a house I would already have a new bumper and be driving the bitch with gas prices the way they are, fillin up the 4runner is killin me, but don't worry, soon as I finish a cetain project or 2, the old bumper will be going back on for the time being, I need to start driving her again
