500watt amp + 400watt 10' subwoofer for $200 ... dont know too much about systems but is that a good price? his gonna tell me the brand tommorow... and will this work with my 98 cl without taking out the bose system? thanks

 

Why would you WANT to the the Bose unit anyway? They are nothing but trouble - I know, having owned two - replace the whole thing with a brand you've heard of!

Hey Bud do yourself a favor and get some quality shit if you're going to keep your car. I've got an eclipse tape deck and in-dash changer that fits perfectly. Remember to upgrade your speakers too.

Infinty is definitely nice, but not the best by far. I've only replaced my 6x9's with a pair of Memphis Audio 3-ways. It only ran me $99, 20 minutes to install. The fuckin' Bose grill is a royal pain in the ass to get off to get the speakers out. I guess Acura didn't think somebody might want to upgrade sometime. Holy shit, the sound is so much better now. The BOSE 6x9's are regular one ways that I guess are supposed to act like dual shitty subs. I got the eclipse stuff from my bro fo free and put it in myself, you got to get a kit though.

 

i believe it is jensen...but however it is spelled...it sucks...don't waste your time/money on it....and infinity are not the best speakers....they are high quality ones...but not the best...

I currently have two 10" Kickers Comp VR and an MTX 6500D Amp. The whole package cost about $375. I've heard bad things about MTX before but it hasn't failed me yet (knock on wood). This setup packs one hell of a punch though.

I have a Premier DEH-740MP Head Unit and Kicker 6 1/2 Components and Kicker 3-way 6X9s. From my experience I believe they are better than infinity's.

Anyhow, my point is that (as others have stated) get high quality stuff. Jensen is sold in Wal-Mart on the same shelf as their "Road Gear" crap. Definitely try to stay away from them, they are overrated (weak), heat up and blow extremely quick. You can find those amps on ebay for around $65 and the subs might also be those generic ones. Like Pyramid or Visonik or Legacy... very cheap and low quality, you can get a pair for less than $70. $200 is really pushing it.
