Gasoline smell? -_-

Gasoline smell? -_-
well.....I dunno if this is natural but my car has a gasoline smell when i warm it up
Like, the exhaust goes outside, but the smell comes from like, the engine bay....
In the morning, I warm up the car for a few mins, opening the garage
So the car is in the garage, with the garage door open so the exhaust goes outside. But I smell gasoline inside my engine bay kind of....like its a pretty strong smell....just started the last few weeks.
What could be wrong? Would it be covered by acura by that 150k Emissions warranty since it has to do with the fuel burning? sometimes I smell it in the car if I warm up too long....
Thanks

you might have an exhaust leak in your headers... or when your header(s) is(are) cold the metal has not expanded so the exhaust can leak out a little bit from the manifold and the downpipe... when the car warms up the smell goes away since the metal expands and closes up the gap...
that could be the reason.
that could be the reason.

I know this is a really old thread, but the problem he is describing recently happened to me. It appears to be related to the evaporative purge system. One of two valves may have failed. In my case, it was the EVAP bypass solinoid. The other is the evaporative purge valve. If the bypass is stuck open, it will not trigger a code in the ecu. In situations where there is no air flow under the hood, ie: still days and stoplights, you will probably smell fuel even when the car is warm. I tended to notice it when I would stop or after a long drive and putting the car in the garage. Mine will act up when it is very humid. Temporature does not seem to matter. My mechanic and I are taking a wait-and-see approach. When the solinoid fails completely, it should trigger the ecu. This issue may closely tie to the mild hesitation problem, but it would not explain jerking and stalling. That is certainly something else entirely. I hope this helps.

My research still points to EVAP Bypass solinoid in my case (fuel smell). And the other thing I failed to mention was that the areas around my injectors, fuel filter linkages, etc... are dry and tight with no residue. I also checked the vacume lines that drive the EVAP system and NONE of them contained an fuel. The last thing I checked was the charcoal vapor capture cannister which was also dry.
I'm just too lasy to pull the solinoid and clean or replace it. I'm not evan really sure what that part costs, but I'll find out when it becomes a more pressing issue.
My only reasoning for saying it may tie to the hesitation problem is that the bypass can cause fuel preasure fluxuation at lower RPMs.
