Front Turn Signal Bulb...Which source is correct?

Just wondering what the situation is with the front turn signal bulbs. I pulled mine out and it was a 7440 wedge type bulb, but in the manual, they say to push & turn to remove the bulb (suggesting the bulb be an 1156) and on the Osram Sylvania website, they say the bulb is a 3497. ????

The reason I ask is because I want to get LED's, but I can't find them in 7440. Does anyone know where I can find 7440 LEDs?

Turn signal bulbs are DEFINITELY 7440s.

I usually recommend this site for bulbs, but I haven't looked closely fot 7440 LEDs.

Thanks guys...i checked out autodynamics before...i think i'm going to buy 168/194 LED's for the side marker light, but i still want to find 7440 LED's (dammit, i will search day and night!!!!)

The reason I want LED's to put in my clear lenses is because some people say that when you put orange bulbs in, and with the reflection on the lense, the new clear lenses sometimes look orange like the old ones many of us have replaced!! (not as bad of course, but still)

I have Amber 7440s, and yes, a large portion of my clear lense looks amber (depending on the angle--due to the reflection)!

If you locate 7440 LEDs, please let me know. I will do the same for y'all!

EDIT: I just checked my pics (listed below), and they don't look to bad.

Please let us know if you call them...I would order a set if they are true LED's

EDIT: check out these bulbs these bulbs I found by the same company. They say that a 3157 bulb will also fit where a 7440 bulb would. Anyone know if this is true?

Just found out some good news...check this site out. It explains how to convert a 3157 bulb to fit a 7440 socket.

Found a few more places that sell the 7440 LED:

One

Two (same price, less shipping)

Three (read my post above, this one requires slight mod...so they say)
