Front Strut Bar

I bought a NRG strut bar for $65 from http://www.koyoaerodynamics.com

It requires some patience and a bolt cutter (or a screwdriver u can mess up and buff arm). I had to relocate my ground wire to and old screw from my OEM intake. But other than that its a 20 min install.

Isnt she sexy!

U need to squeeze it under the fuse box, and remove the stock grounding point with a bolt cutter. Oh.. and i just bent the stock harness holder out of the way a little.. no big deal.

i had to mount it under the ABS line. really easy, just remove the bolt and slip it under.

It should fit the 3.0, the body is the same.

According to the pic, you won't have to take off the ABS bracket and put it back on or relocate the ground point.

The only thing you migh have problem with on a 3.0 is the bar touching the vaccumn (sp?) hoses on the IM. You can see my strut bar touching the hoses in the pic above... I have tilted the bar at an angle for clearance, but i dont think you can do that with an NRG bar....

To the OP: How high is the bar? from the strut mount bolts to the height of the bar in the middle...

I forgot to add and the server doesn't let me edit my post:

If you have the stock 3.0 strut bar, you need to remove it along with some wire mounting clips. After the strut is off, you'll have a small bracket standing in the way. Use a hammer to flatten it or remove it anyway you like.

idk if you'll have this bracket problem but i did, just FIY.

my car is funky because so much shit has been taken off and put back on my car, stuff thats super easy for me, is hell to other people. the NRG bar is level to where the stock strut bar wouldve been.

I didnt buy a strut bar like yours because when i bought one for my GF's accord, it looks like it could flex pretty easily, defeating the whole purpose of the bar.

Yea, it's generic ebay bars, i bought it in a set. I'm gonna replace it soon with a Cusco/Tanabe bar. The NRG bar looks very nice.

It should fit the 3.0. Only problem you might have (which I had with my cusco bar) is a braket on the passenger side. All you have to do is hammer it down or knock it off and it will fit just fine.

The bracket is the only problem for the 3.0, nice pick up daniel, I bet that stiffens up them omnis a bit on turns, less body roll. I have an NRG bar too that I was gonna put on those omnis too when I had them

ya know i was testing it out today, and it affects the bounciness of the ride.

when i hit a bump on a turn i dont feel it at all like i used to. I think instead of the suspension making me feel the bump twice, it just bounces once. I like !

i thought ppl said the stock front strut bar was pretty decent since it was one piece. So would you say for the money, replacing the stock front strut bar is worth it? or is it more for looks than anything?

It definitely serves a purpuse, just like the lower strut bar, because it ties the two struts together rather than the chassis, providing for less twist

Yea, but the stock one in our cars is fairly strong. Your gaining more of a custom "look" than you are performance.

The stock ones are 3 point braces right? I heard that was a lot better than the 2 point braces. What would be a good mathematical way to measure which of the two are better?

Ok the stock ones mounting point is wierd. THe middle part can be bent very very easily, and the bar is attached to the wheel wells. I honestly dont see how it works very well.

ALso dont buy the strut bars that look like this:

the're very weak and more for looks..

See the Cusco ones are designed like so:

And the NRG one is like so:

BUT all in all, I suggest getting an aftermarket bar only if u have coilovers. if ur on stock suspension, its not going to do shit.

The stock one is OK for the STOCK suspension, not aftermarket suspension or performance.
