That's my pic!!! That was the old deck I had. I used a custom mount bracket in the back to hold the top deck up so it would sit staight out. If it didn't have the bracket I made, it would sag a little. I also used weather striping about the deck to fill the gap. The weather strip was black so everything looked good.

I made a custom mount also. What I did was bought this strip of metal from homedepot. It is about a 1.5" wide and a few feet long. It is flat and has .5" holes along its length. I bent the metal so that it looks like a "U" then bent the 2 adjacent sides 45 degrees so that go flat agains the side of my cdplayer, it screws right in and use the mount from the oem stereo to attach my new mount the the chasis of the car.

I took a "L" shaped piece of aluminum and drill 2 holes in it. When you take out your stock cd player, there's a piece of metal with 2 holes in it. Thats where I screwed the "L" piece to. Since the deck was shorter than the stock one, the "L" made it sit up more and allowed the cubby to sit straight also.

I custom fabricated a whole metal housing that screwed into where the stock one went.

The 1st pic is mine.

The cubby hole is not there, in that pic. I just peeled the wood grain off of the cubby hole, and put it over the "knock out plate" that covering the space.

My deck sticks out like an errection!

CLPower...don't get into car audio. If you end up liking it too much, you're gonna spend BIG MONEY....I've spend a few Gs on mine, and keep changing stuff all the time...of course it's for better stuff....

the deck came with a strip of aluminum which has pre drilled holes all along it... in the directions it saids to bend it into an L shape and then it should fit I got the Pioneer DEH-P850MP. Is this what you did?

BTW njpdiddy I was about to start a this exact thread. lol good one beat me to it.

Well this is the outcome so far I just have to fill in the gaps on the sides.

I think you're talking about the cover plate. It prevents thiefs from taking the headunit out. You have to bend tablets so if you pull on it, it won't come out. The "L" bracket I'm talking about is a piece of thick aluminum I had to custom fabricate myself. It's kinda hard to explain.

Looks good! Take some black weather stripping and fill the gap. That's what I did. Make sure you get some thick stuff. They sell it in a roll.

yeah looks good man, there are actually 5mm deep support holes on the side of the Pioneer decks so if u plan well u can make it so you can screw your bracken right into the headunit, thats what I did, I dont see how anyone could steal that unless they destroy the car
