FIX TO SPEEDOMETER that works not VSS

PLEASE stop me if this is already known.. i dont have time for a wright up but just wanted to post real quick before i head off to work for those cl people or any other honda folks that are having the problem

if the speedometer dont work BUT the cruise control does.. then its not the VSS

its the cercuit board behind the speedometer.. i pulled the speedometer apart using the DIY for the led bulb mod.. then i used this http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2087284 DIY to pull apart the speedo..

i DO not know which solder joint was the culprit but i soldered every effing thing.. first try when i put it back into car .. the speedo started to smoke literally almost prob could have started a fire.. so i turned it off and pulled it out. (thats why you dont solder everything if you dont know what to solder and dont put the casing on if your not 100% done).

So after i took it back out i inspected the circuit and saw where it had burned in one place.. i think i just put too much on and prob was heating up on circuit board.. so i removed it with a screwdriver. (not recommended but at this point i was like fuck it whats the worst that can happened) then i used a heated glue gun and glued that pin to the circuit connection ..

But at that point clumsy me leaned on the temp gauge needle and broke it smh if its not one prob its the next.. but ill come back to that later..

so i placed the unit back into the car .. no bouncing up to 20mph .. no smoke.. everything seems to be working in order.. drove around the block for awhile.. woot woot.. i got speedo tach and odom back.. woot woot..

now does anyone know how to replace the needles in these gauges??? it broke off at the metal piece .. clean break..

So long story short.. if your good with electronics and soldering .. this is a easy fix.. if not just take it to a electronics store and ask them to resolder the joints for you.. and it should work.. gonna head to work now and see if it goes out.. cross finger pleaaseee
