He wants 2700. I was actually thinking of just getting the piping from him, but the prob is that it might not fit anyways. I'll look into going with a custom set up with my friends then and see how it looks. Give me your replies, so that I can make a more informative decision.

I'm sure there is room, or room can be made, but I still don't see where it would go. I can see where the piping could come FROM the intercooler right where a CAI would go, but where would the piping leading to the intercooler from the turbo go?

I recall hearing someone mention getting a smaller, more efficient radiater to free up some space in front of the engine. would that work at all?

I was really looking into a turbo application for our J30's since I am in denver @ 6000 ft above sea level all the time. I really want to get this working so I can pep up the car a lot more.

the trubo for sale is not the hks setup from years ago. this is a completely custom setup made by a person with an accord v6. this setup has nothing to do with hks.

It was my understanding that this was brandons old kit. If i'm not mistaken the guy that bought out the old HKS's kit name was brandon. I haven't seen pics of this kit yet, it's the one where the turbo mounts behind the motor correct?

If it's not the HKS kit, I wonder if it's from the old V6 accord turbo I ran into a few years back out here.

You think it can be done for under $3000? My friends believe so, but I'm kind of skeptical about it because it hasn't been done before. That's why I thought buying the kit and going from there would be easier, but it might be more costly. Mmmm....maybe I should build my own?????

personally, i'd do my own. The only thing usefull really out of that kit is the piping, if that (I still haven't seen it) A T3 is to small IMO, and you can definately get a more effective intercooler. It'll all probably run more then 3K once you are done, but this kit for 2500 isn't even proven to work yet, there will be bugs to work out w/ it.

You know how I am..had to go with a 125 shot....once I'm turbo or supercharged, I'm still going to keep that 125 shot on there I know the accords have had some internals done, so that's a foundation I can work off of.

Mmm....I think CLpower is right though. If i go with this kit, it's going to run me 2700+ having to buy a bigger, better intercooler, upgrade to external wastegate and bigger turbo, and like he said...the piping is really what I could use out of this kit, but as I mentioned before, it might not even fit since their downpipe form OBX doesn't fit ours without having to bend them. I've had my eye on cldriver's supercharger, but damn, a turbo just sounds so damn sick. If you guys want to help me build one or find parts, that would be greatly appreciated. I think I'm going to tell my friends I'm going to go with a custom one we'll build instead. What I'll do is try to build it with around 2300 and leave about 700 for trial and error in case anything comes up. I want to see if I can do it for a reasonable price so that I can give everyone else an opportunity to do a similar project as well. I'll let you guys know what their input on this whole project is. I'll post again tonight.

If you take off the front bumper, you'll see what im talking about. Of course, the front bumper support will need to be cut for clearance.

I'm goin through with it, as soon as i find out if dr evil will get me that kit. I already picked out a turbo, and will do all piping myself, because i'm a welder. So all I have to pick up is the turbo, wastegate, piping, and front mount i/c. I'm planning on keeping the stock exhaust, and running a cutout, for the sleeper look. I'm going to try and talk to scalbert to pick up his premade emanage harness, and go with that piggyback.

Sweet sweet Baka. I have a friend that has stock exhaust with a cut out. Yea, my friends and I decided it'd be better to go with a custom kit. So I'll be keeping my eye out for the next week or so on some intercoolers and turbos.

If you need any help, let me know. I'm thinking about investing in a type s intake manifold, tb, and heads. I've read a bunch of threads on v6p.net that they flow better than our 3.0 units.

Well all I need is a custom exhaust manifold for the turbo. Do you know of any that has already been made, or the specs to build one? Once I have that, then the rest will just be fun.

Just talked to a friend of mine that knows someone that might be able to do the manifold for me. He says he's going to get in touch with him tomorrow. Hope that goes through well.

Use the obx headers, and make collectors off that, that come together and weld on to the turbo flange. I would run an external waste. It would be awsome if you made the two pipes equal length.

^^ that's exactly what I was saying on page 2, but you culd just cut the OBX downpipe right after the front and rear meet, so then they wOULD be equal length.

finally got my car back from the tranny shop....my torque convertor failed. It was just a mechanical failure, nothing either of us could do about it. Took a toal of 2 weeks to finish my tranny, lol. Anyways, at least I'll get to enjoy her for just today. Going back to another shop tomorrow for the cams.

Well, a custom turbo exhaust manifold will run me for 1600. I have to think about the benifits of both now. Now what I need to find out is the difference between the exhaust maniolds on NA cars and Turbo cars. And then see what the benifits of both worlds would be. From my understanding is that a turbo's exhaust manifold spins the air for the turbo to spool better/more effectively???? But not sure on that one....

That's the big problem I've had understanding all this. All the J series parts are interchangable, but when it comes to our cars, we have to be more careful. They seem to look identical on the outside, but for some reason it wont work??? I don't know why, I want proof. I've heard different things. I've heard the mounting points are different, and I've also heard the the parts inside their tranny are different from ours. And then I've also heard we could use the dr. evil tranny from the accord. But if you look up the tranny codes for both cars, they are different. Making them have a slight difference in the, Also, hasn't it been said on these forums that a 97 CL tranny will simply not work in a 98 tranny for what ever reason. Well maybe there's something in that accord tranny that makes it not work for our cars.

Another thing I've heard is if you did a full cl-s swap, from what i was told, is that it would sit 1 inch higher than our stock engine set up, if it were to mount where it should be.

Does this mean the J35 blocks could be a hasstle for us to swap? I'm still going into the direction of putting in a bigger motor in this car for when I blow my motor up. **knock on wood**

For awhile I've been getting biased info on all the J series parts and our cars. I still don't know what to go by.

This is what i was thinking, I guess the only way would be to measure the mounting points. My friend has a 6th gen av6, i'll take some measurements and let everyone know.

Basically, some one has to do the r&d, if i can get the accord tranny to work, dr evil can send me the upgraded torque converter, valves, ect. So now, I have to find a full accord swap, and try put it in my car, along with the ecu.

So gay...won't get my car back till Monday...rrrr.....

But anyways, my friend's GSR got stolen this morning. Crazy, because we got home around 3ish, and at around 4am he was suppose to pick me up so we could go eat. But instead, he fell asleep, and at 7am he found out his car was stolen by his parents. So it was jacked within the 3 hours he was asleep.

Aside from that, tonight was pretty good. We went to the shop doing my cams, and took out my nitrous kit and installed it in my friend's RSX type S. He ran this kid with a 2002 Mustang GT with bolts ons. This kid has never lost to an import and was all cocky about this run. The stang has intake, exhaust, straight pipe, headers, cams, pullies, throttle body, gearing done to it, and 275's in the rear. He's actually a friend of ours, but just never raced him. Well anyways, my friends beat him. He used my 125 shot on him, lol. We have it on film. It was a great race. He won by about 1 car and a bumper.
