First 3.0 Turbo maybe ????

Screw it, I'm gonna go for it if he accepts my offer. I made an offer to someone on the v6.net forums that is selling his turbo kit. I know it might blow my tranny, but maybe that will help me to forcefully find a way to get a manual tranny swap. But regardless, the shop where I had my tranny rebuilt told me I can put whatever I want on my car, and my tranny will still be covered just as long as I don't race. So I have my tranny covered for 2 years with unlimited miles. Wish me luck...again.....

well actually now that i think about it, i doubt the sandrails have the same mounting points as we do with the j30...so it would make it easier for them to play around with what they can do to it, since they pretty much build the thing from the ground up...

cocoa take the tranny to the shop you had it rebuilt at and have them beef it up some, they can do some beefing up thats possible according to the guy that did mine, he's all into drag racing too and said it possible with the trannys on the 3.0

So far I'm the highest bidder. But my internet has been messing up, and I haven't been able to get on in 3 days. I'm not sure what's wrong with my comp.

Just pmed him an offer if we close the deal right now, hope he accepts. Yea, about the tranny, I truly hope this will give me the energy needed to be the first to successfully build/make the first 3.0 with a CL-S 6 speed (heard someone has, but have yet to seen proof of it). I know many of you must think this is a waste of money, but if I wanted to build a 12sec car for cheap (or buy another car), then I would have gone and just done so a long time ago. I've stayed on this project simply because it's a challenge, and challenges is what keeps me interested in things (or progressing on the project itself). I've found too many things easy in life, and this is just beyond fun. (just so long as you keep your priorities straight ex: school, family, etc....) So hope to hear nothing but positive things from the rest of you, peace.....

It's about time some one had a positive attitude about their cl, and not just give up, and buy a new car. Keep me posted on your progress, in the future, I hopefully will have a similar project going.

Cocoa, keep me posted if you get this setup, I'm thinking about doing this setup myself, if I can get my transmission built locally. I'm thinkin about gettin the garrett gt series turbo and making all the custom piping myself, as well as making piping for a front mount i/c.

If that's the kit I think it is, YOU DO NOT WANT IT, that kit was the one we were gonna buy back in the day. It's the HKS prototype kit. No one has ever been able to get it to run right. The kit isn't setup properly and you will most likely need a different sized turbo, etc

Don't bother w/ this one.

The turbo sizing seems like it's a little small for our application, and not be sufficient for the v6. Also I'm never fond of the internal wastegate idea, and the side mount setup. The piping design is very similar to the guys from the 2nd gens, and seems like the ideal way to go with the v6. Anywho, if I can get my tranny built locally, I'm going for it. Alot of new things been poping up on v6p.net, and it make's me have more faith and desire to work on the v6. I hope cocoa goes through with this, and makes us v6 guys get off our asses, and make some real power with our motors, the potential is there, but no one want's to take the initiative to go through with it. Tuning is another problem, as always, allmotor is running the emanage, and his kit showed some pretty impressive results.

My car is still at the tranny shop. They had to take it out again because of the problems I had last week with it. My bads I haven't redynoed my car last week like I promised. Once I get her back, I'll have the cams in and wha not. The injectors will be here tomorrow.

He didn't accept my last offer. So I replied Goodluck with the sale and thanks for his time. He then replied and said he'll take my previous offer. I haven't replied to that yet. My friends are saying we can build a better one for that price. (they've built one already for the is300 for a good price and it was awesome). So I'm wondering if I would run into more problems with this set up, or with my own. So after I decide on which way to go with my friends, then I'll reply to him. Should have an answer by the end of this weekend for him and you guys. Although I'm already expecting to have a problem with the exhaust manifold, since the AV6 obx downpipe/headers dont fit our cars perfectly.

personally I think you'd be better off making your own setup. you should probably jsut take your current headers and just chop them right before the flex pipe, adn then weld on the piping to go to the turbo which would be placed where the battery is, then rout the exhaust pipe back down to the cat. plus you already have the stronger fuel pumpo and injectors right?

only problem I've encountered when mentally designing the turbo setup is where the intercooler would go. you might have to end up getting a top mount intercooler like the one designed by scalbert. heck, that one might even fit the J30.

what's the price, if it's anything close to what the first exchange went for you can MOST DEFINATELY get this all done for a better price.

From the sound of it, they STILL haven't been able to get this kit running, it's been a good 2-3 years.

I would, the t3 is such a small turbo for our application, tell him you just want to buy turbo and exhaust piping, and call it a day.

Their's enough room to get the charge piping and i/c to fit as a front mount.
