FINALLY!!!!! Dustbuster4 is going to the track!!!!
Yes, it is true!
We are going to hit 75/80 in the morning to run the CL's. I am dying to see what gains I have with my headers and Helix Power Tower. Can't wait to see Rick run with his Nitto Drag Radials.
We all are waiting for Rick to hit the infamous "13 second" 1/4 mile with his severely modded CL.
Check the board tomorrow, I'll post what times we get. Track opens at 9am for those wishing to run or witness this live!

I'm only gonna run the 75-shot mainly because I want to prove that I can get into the 13's. I was sooooo close last year with my 14.05 ET on stock tires. I'm running the drag radials on Sunday! 
Also, I'm afraid to tun the 100-shot right now. My engine is running rough and it needs a tune-up.
I'm gonna save the 100-shot run after I drop in my new engine in August (finally)!
The biggest thing that sucks is when I went to the speed shop to get N2O, they only put in 2 lbs (on top of the 2 lbs already had) in my bottle because they ran out!!!! :angry:
I'll only get maybe 2 runs with the bottle. I'll run another 1-2 runs NA to see what ET I can hit just on the engine.
Also, I'm afraid to tun the 100-shot right now. My engine is running rough and it needs a tune-up.

To compare these runs with prior runs (last year): I ran a 15.8 with ONLY a CAI as a mod. I now have CAI, Headers, and Exhaust and ran a 16.1. WTF!!!!!!
I ran a 14.05 last November with my current set-up on stock tires. I ran with drag radials today! I need bottle pressure of between 1000 and 1100 psi to get a great run. Because I had less than 4 lbs. in my bottle, the absolute greatest pressure on the gauge was 900 psi. After the 1 run on nitrous, the pressure dropped below 800 psi and never went higher; so I left!
A warm day and low bottle pressure just killed me!

Our first 2 runs were very close. I edged him by just a few hundredths. One the 3rd run I got my 16.1 and he got a 16.5!
He had to leave for work, and that's when I ran the 14.7 on nitrous.
I think that if I had higher bottle pressure, I would have gained 1/2 second, but I don't even think that would have gotten me into the 13's. It was just too hot.

Way to hot fellas!
I know the weather will be in our favor in September and October when the seasons change. We will return to the track then because we want Rick to hit 13's and I damn sure wanna go low 15's.
Still had fun, any day at the track is fun!

dust, why where you having low bottle pressure? No warmer? What we use to do at the races is throw my bottle under the front foot well and throw the heater on it full blast. After about 30 minutes the pressure would be perfect!

Bogdan, you know I ran a 15.8 stock last year at Capitol, so beware of the 3.0 in the fall - the baby will get me low 15's when the weather cools off.
The other cars - mostly Mustangs, since it was a test-n-tune/Mustang roundup track day, were just as shitty. I did see a few GT's run like 15.6 and stuff. The Cobras were running high 14's-low 15's. That is not even right!
Oh well, time to just wait until Septmeber!

I did get the bottle warmed up to a max of 950 psi by parking the car with the trunk open to the sun. I do have a bottle heater, but they don't turn on unless the air temp is cool.
As it turns out, when I took the CL to work today, I purged the bottle and there was NO nitrous coming out! I think there's a chance that not only did I not have enough pressure during the run at the track, I may have run out of nitrous on the way.
Point is: I'll wait for a cooler day and only run with a full bottle. I shouldn't have gone on Sunday, but I was "itching" to hit the track!
