WWW.HELMINC.COM for the 3.0 service manual suplement
WWW.BULKPART.COM/CGI-BIN/MIVA? LOOK FOR THE M7ZA REBUILD KIT. #12001A
u also need the filter from the same site #12926

the kit came with EVERYTHING u need for the rebuild. clutch packs (usually the problem) all seals, gaskets, ball bearings, etc.
and it also came with half ass instructions. the service manual has everything u need to know. some shit u dont need, (some special tools) all i needed was a breaker bar, 1 5/16" socket fot the shaft nuts. 3ea (extremly hard to get off.) i used cargo straps (thank you air force) which i hooked to the strut tower bar to lower the tranny down. on to a pad. directing it with hydraulic jacks then i drug the tranny into the garage and started on it.
no body helped me. i used the straps/jacks again to raise it into place.if u have someone with u u can do it in 2 days. it took me acually bout 2 weeks (had to wait for a broken part from acura) but only 3 working days. its really really really not worth the $1800 for a professional rebuild.

how would you rate the rebuild on a scale of 1 to 10 on difficulty?

what tools are needed?

i tore the whole tranny apart completly. the actual rebuild took maybee 4 hours.(1 DAY) i would say 8. i didnt have any special tools except the socket (1 5/16"), the breakerbar, and torque wrench. the book goes into measuring things but thats only if there was a problem with hard parts. gears, survo's, etc. and they had to be replaced. assuming ur car slips in and out of gears harshly, and doesent grind, it should be the same as mine.

So, it Helm's that makes Acura/Honda Service manuals?

Congrats on the rebuild~

Damn, I wish I lived in Tampa to take you up on your offer. I have a strong feeling that my tranny will die this summer. I don't know why . . . but I just think it will.

its smoothe. alittle jerkey in 1-2 shift, but thats just the clutch packs working in.

i dont think its the torque converter. its been my experience that the noise seems more like an engine oil pump, or tranny pump gear. which operate the same way.
the tc itself only has turbines inside and shouldnt be noisy. but if ur gonna rebuild u should just change it to be safe, cause i am by no means a tranny xpert.

and dust i think ur the only one here whose running a tranny cooler (which im getting next week to extend mine).

I can't prove it, but I like to think that the tranny cooler has been what's keeping my tranny alive.

The installation is pretty straight forward and fairly easy. For the $$$, it's an essential investment!

If you need, this is the thread I wrote on installing mine: http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=73356
