Finally did it

I bought my 99 3.0 in 02, but waited until today to start the modding ( besides high performance plugs, wires, intake, etc that I could easily do myself ). I spent 7 hrs at the shop in the last two days lowering my car. A friend at a shop installed the eibach pro kit and agx adjustables. The car sits suprisingly low, and rides really well. Aside from the high cost of labor, because bolts were literally welded with rust ( the car spent two years in canada ). He had to drill through the rear bolts to remove the strut/spring pair, so the cost of installation ran around $350.

I'm looking into headers and exhaust in the near future. This was a big step for me. I'm usually not one to mod my vehicle beyond what I can usually do myself. A few months ago I was thinking about getting a used Audi A4, but I just fell in love with my car again. I treat it so well that it runs like new and without a car note...and now, it rides well.

**edit **
One question, andybody experience noise from their rear AGX/eibach pairs? I hear a loud clanking sound on bumps, that lessens as I turn the dial up. Is this a sign of trouble?

Search about the clunking.

My car does it too, its the progressive part of the spring coil stacking.

There is something about the honda PN spring rubber covers that gets rid of most of the clunking. Im going to try it on my CL.

Get the honda rubber bump stops, that should work just fine to stop the clunking. And prokits aren't that low

my mechanic mentioned that it was probably the bump guards ( that's what he called them ), and said it wasn't a big deal. it's not that bad so I might wait until I get more time to handle this.

yeah, the pro kits aren't low, but it made a huge difference. In Mississippi, where they apparently install 8 inch bumps intermittently, any lower and I wouldn't be able to take it.
