finally me and my folks went and bought the car i wanted a 97 2.2 automatic, pretty decent for a first car, its nice, runs good, very stock, however, planning on mods? yup, in the very far future hehe

thx, hehe the color is like a teal/greenish color, i'd love to have either a white,silver,black,or red but ohwell hehe, the only thing is, i cant DRIVE IT yet!!! they havent finished doing all the papers and crap, so i gotta wait until next week, until then i can only look at it and drive it around the neighborhood yeah, and the stock cd player is missing the code which i need to get and i also need to make some spare keys, because i only have 1 key and the remote (i love that BEEP BEEP)

 

dont u want to sleep in ur first car? i couldnt sleep the 1st day i got my CL.

 

Yeah just put in an aftermarket head unit they dont cost that much and yeah my alarm I lost my beep beep I guess it just died cause my alarm still locks it just doesnt go beep beep anymore. Oh well pickin up an aftermarket alarm next week anyhow congrats again man welcome to the fam.

 

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it? My wife's low-mileage 1997 Acura 2.2CL with 46k miles on it, in good condition (except for the usual paint chips) is going to be on the block sometime in the near future (she wants a TL!) and I am wondering what we can get for it.

That is a setting on the remote - I forget the sequence of keys you have to press and hold, but can look it up for you if you want ... this allows the beepbeep to be enabled and disabled.

look in your manual, it tells you, something like hold your trunk button and then press lock

Yea when I got my car it only came with one remote and one key, went to the dealership and they charged $150 CAN for an extra remote and key!!!

someone said something about holding the trunk button, then pressing the lock/unlock. if that doesnt work, try my sequence below:

lock,unlock,trunk,trunk,trunk,lock,unlock,lock,loc k,trunk,unlock,open left door, open sunroof, lock, unlock, trunk, trunk, ignition, lock, unlock

AND VIOLA! you're beeping is gone, lol

 

hold the trunk and lock button untill the light flashes, my cl is my first car too

 

is that the unlimited horsepower code?

Hey for the alarm to beep is that only on the 97 CL's or are they suppose to be in all of them?? cuase mine is strait from the factory and it's never beeped. and that would be cool if my beep... I WANT MY BEEP!!!!!

 

your radio code is under your ashtray in your car. Thats wre mine was.

 

It's in the manual. It's really easy, takes about 15 seconds. I forgot how to do it, but I've done it before.

 

takes about 3 seconds...

as people have mentioned.... read the manual... if you dont have it...

hold the trunk button then quickly press the lock button (the big one on top) and then hold it until the red light blinks on and off... then ur set.

try holding down the panic button.. the stock alarm sounds pretty decent.

Dudes .... i just got my 2.2 cl 5 speed ... today ... im so F***in excited .... its my third car in 3 years ... heh ... im not too good with them ... one was in an accident and one was stolen ... so hopefully this one wont be anything like those ... itll be ... abducted by aliens or somethin .... but anywho .. 67k miles ... couldnt be happier ... got it from an acura dealer ... with a 2 year warranty ... dark metallic green .... oh my god im so excited ... ..... pics will be up later ... im washin it tomorrow ... completely stock ... till i get some more money

 

Thats Cypress Green Pearl. By far the best color on CLs! Only came in 97, on 2.2's if I recall correctly. Nice choice! Check out my pics for ideas!
