Fan Stays on, Why?

My fan stays on whenever I take the car off for a little while. Normally for about 5-10 minutes. I dont know why. It only started doing this about 6 months ago. It would only do it once in a while. But lately like the last few days it does it almsot EVERYTIME I take the car off. Any idea of why this is? Is it something to be concerned about? ?

I was thinking that maybe the car is starting to overheat?? I wouldn't know because I broke my temp guage when I installed my indiglo guages.

Which brings me to my 2nd question. A while back on this board it was said that, that part of the instrument cluster can be replaced, just that temp guage/needle. I also broke the plastic cover that covers all of the guages. Does any one knwo what the part number is of those two pieces?

Finally; does anyone know if the dealership would be willing to go into the cluster and install that temp guage and the plastic cover? I know this is kinda out on the limb, but does anyone know how much they would charge? roughly?

Thanks guys

~Kevin~

removing/replcing cluster is roughley a 3 hour job as charged by acura. your fan comes on to cool the car down, maybe time for a cooling system check or a thermostat replacement. something in your car is telling the fan that the engine is too hot.

You might want to take your car in and get it checked because you can't even see if your car is overheating. Check to see if the connector to the thermostat is hooked up or not.

yes you can just get the temp guage. from the dealer it's like 30 dollars. it's a piece of cake installing once you know what NOT to do. i broke my needle doing the same thing- i thought they came off. anyway, it's like two philips screws and one connector -piece of cake, the plastic part i'm not sure about.
good luck
