Swappin in a motor with less displacement is dumb unless you're into road racing/drag racing etc... where you're limited to a certain amount of displacement OR you're just trying to be different.

The F20B might make 145 ft lbs of torque and 200 hp, but that's not until after you spun the damn thing all the way to 8000 rpm. You're going to want more low end grunt when you're talking about a car with the curb weight of the CL.

Civic's, Integra's and some Accords can get away with low torque motors. The H22 makes sence because you're making similar torque. An H23 VTEC motor would be fun, or even boring out an H22.

great point about the RPMS... what good is 200hp if you dont hit it till the 8000's...

Of course it's faster, but you have to think about drivability too. Driving a heavy car with no torque is frustrating as hell. Or at least to me it is...

Don't quote me, but I think the Euro-R was given a 2.0 liter because Honda needed a car to compete in one the touring car series that are huge in Europe (again limited by 2.0 liters of displacement).

And the Euro-R is probably a good bit lighter than our CL's. Type-R's are always lightened in some form or another. ITR's are lighter than GSR's, CTR's are lighter than SiR's, NSX-R is lighter than all the other models of the NSX.

imo, if you strongly believe in something, do it.

dreaming is one thing. making that dream into a reality is another.

in honda tuning they had a 95 accord with a k24a2 (TSX swap) with a 6MT using hasports new k series mounts in a accord. which should also work for a CL. it was only a small caption of that car at a car show. but i heard they already have an application out already for it.
