I'm sooo glad to have gotten the extended warranty for my CL. I posted a thread about a noise coming from my engine that turned out to be from the transmission. I brought it in to the dealer and they recommended that the tranny be replaced, but that since it was dead (still working) that it wouldn't be covered by the warranty. Since then I have been pissed off and worried that I would get stuck someplace. Basically the tranny is making noises at idle and making scrapping noises in reverse.

Anyway, I called the warranty place again today to complain and they said that I could take the car to any licensed transmission place and they would cover it as long as the shop felt that repair/ replacement work needed to be done.

I orginally wanted to take it to the dealer because I thought they would know what to do, but I can't believe they said that to me.

Anyway where do you think I should take it? They mentioned AAMCO, Lee Myles and Menieke, but said that I could take it anyplace.

 

My tranny is making the same exact noise you mentioned. The noise at idle has slowly been getting louder though. In reverse it makes that scraping noise you mentioned. Man I love my CL but i'm getting really sick of it. I think it's time for a new car!

 

When I get mine fixed I'll let you know what they tell me and how much it would cost...
