This is a compltely hypothetical question but here it is.
If you were to sell your CL for the blue book value, what you would buy as a replacement car for under 15000 dollars. Kepp in mind, if you couldnt afford a huge car payment if you finance, then say something cheaper. This question is meant for rrealistic thinking.
Just wanted to see what other cars besides the CL you would buy, and please don't say that you will never sell the CL.

The car to go with, very cheap and well rounded, the VW GTI's. The 1.8t is very easy to get hp out of with a turbo and chip upgrade. The VR6's are nice too, but more $$$, and more $$$ to mod. For some reason, i just love the lines of that car, simple and german. Slap a Lakai grille, a little painting and a drop on it looks hot as hell.

I would probably go for a 5th gen prelude 5spd in that price range. I still love the ludes, though a 300zx would be great too, just not practical at all. at least Id get a trunk with the lude

ding069: i currently am having my 351 clevland bored and polished so i can start the major upgrading. the holly projection efi kit i have never heard about but how does it work? i can wait to get the block back. its fits just right into the engine bay of my 67 mustang hardtop. i wanted a 351 windsor but i would have to cut out an inch into the struts and you dont want to have that and have a poor suspension due to modification and cutting out shit so i went with the clevland as well. my dad's uncle just got his car finished up for this years hot august nights its a midnight blue mach 1 i dont know all the specs but she is one bad mother, and its not even his, its his wifes car, he has tunnel vision so she drive a lot but he has a 2003 f350 super diesel

I'd say 93 or 94 Toyota Supra....if you coudl find one for the right price and miles....I know you can find cars cheap at police auctions...i read a story about a guy who bought a 95 Supra for $$12K at a police auction with only like 60 thou miles....it had a little dammage to the front but 1 G later, it was perfect...

nice choice! if i was loaded i'd DEFINITLY buy an old legend and get it in near new condition but with only 15000 i couldn't see giving up a 97 CL for a 94 Legend. Thats the problem with a lot of these answers. yea blue book for my car is nice but why would i go from a perfectly fine running 97 v6 CL with status and decent speed; to a 94 Legend with probably well over 100k miles that will start giving a hell of a lot a trouble.
