engine problems

I am trying to help my brother with his 91 honda accord. He is having problem with his car. When he turns his car on the rpm goes up and down. The car runs fine but every time he stops his cars' rpm goes up and down. I know I am posting this on a cl forum. any suggestions?

my brothers car use to do that when his air conditioning was on.. or the air condensor working (heat or a/c)... so we just shut it off when we were at stops... good luck

You either have a vacuum leak somewhere along your lines in which it is causing your rpms to surge or your TPS sensor is dirty or broken.

Check vacume lines and ECU connections for IAC, BARRO and MAP, you may have falty or disconnected sensors. This has nothing to do with the a/c.
