Engine Mods

I am new to the CL and japanese motors in general as I have driven Cadillacs for the past 5 years. I was just wondering what type of power the '98 2.3 CL puts out. I was also wondering what might be some good mods for a DIY to increase performance but not lose on fuel efficiency. I was thinking K&N air filter and a bolt-on cold air intake. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

if you want power, turbo is only way, unless you do some seriuos motor work...2.3 only put out 150 hp at the flywheel i think.....but for fuel economy and fast in the same setnece...nope

Not looking for a faster car, I have no complaints about the performance. Just looking for ways to make the car more efficient, thats why I was thinking to add the cold air intake to bring more air into the engine and perhaps increase efficiency

damn.....liljo is all mixed up.....adam...a v2 is a new AEM intake....my opinion is its a big fat ass waste of money....get any intake...200 bucks for one is just plain retaaaaded.....yes, an intake will help with fuel efficiency....and they sound pretty damn cool too. otherwise....i dont know of much else to help you...i wouldnt go as far as headers and exhuast...think thats a awaste too....just get an intake, coke, and a smile and you should be happy

i had both the aem cai and the v2 and the v2 is better hands down low-mid. seems the same up high also. however the 4 mpg increase is quickly making up the difference in price. i saved an easy $50 on gas on one round trip to and from school. with some heat shielding of some sort it can prob be made more efficient. i am going to look into that along with wrapping my header.
