ECU upgrade (question)

Can anyone tell me what kind of ECU upgrades you guys did if any? I'm looking to put in a chip but don't really know what kind to get? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Erik

most of the people on the forum that have ecu's either have the venom 400 ( so do i ) and i like it a lot, also people have apex vtec controller that they seem to like but apparently the venom gives more HP

the vetc controller is better in the long run cuz u can have it tuned for max performance. but it is hard to set up right adn the venom 400 is a instant gain nothin to setup up. its all automatic. i dont see the point of a vtec controller (it aslo does air/fuel like the venom) unless ur heavily modded. if u dotn got the basic bolt ons get them first

from what i've read the venom 400 simply opens you up to WOT at semi throttle, therefore triggering the ECU to dump more fuel. why not just press the gas pedal down with your foot instead of buying the venom module, right? anyways, i'm getting my v-afc today and should have it installed in a few days and dyno tuned. it looks like a MUCH better way to go in my opinion, but again, i haven't owned either, so this is just going on what i've read. and since i've worked in a tuning shop before and am very close to people that do, i've heard a lot of opinions on the venom and v-afc. in short: venom opes your throttle all the way injecting more fuel (same thing that happens when you press the pedal all the way). the v-afc is actually tuneable, and depending on what mods you have, you can increase/decrease your fuel flow by x amount throughout the RPM range, depending on where and where not you need the fuel. at 5500 rpm on a b16a we gained 14 horsepower just by smoothening out the fuel curve with a v-afc the other day.

Jet offers an ECU upgrade. Some people with the 3.0's have done this upgrade. It's better to do it when you have done everything engine wise you want to your car. i.e. I/H/E. They can program it accordingly. I never heard anything really good about it. It runs about $300 and you have to send your own ECU in.

To support VXCL,
I have the Venom400 and it's the best performance mod that I have put on my car to date. It does work.
