Mount the deck to the factory bracket behind the deck, and use a metal strap wrapped around the top of the deck and use the origional screws that held the pocket in place. Then slide it into the dash like the factory deck and screw the rear bracket back into place.

There should be a threaded hole in the center of the back of the deck... you can use a small piecce of fairly thick steel, bend it, drill holes in it, and screw the two together, just make sure you use a short screw into the back of the deck. You'll have to make a metal strap to wrap around the deck to hold the pocket on. I just suggest doing it this way so you dont have to drill any holes in the aftermarket deck (not a good idea, voids warranty and small metal particles can short circuits out inside)

BTW- what kind of deck did you have installed?? I may be able to help more if I know what deck it is, Brand and Model.

I have the Elcipse 5504 and i managed to keep my little compartment by:

1.) Securing the mouting ring for the deck in place first.
2.) Bolt the deck from the back hole to the dash chassy(for support and security).
3.)Fasten down compartment with screw.(there is a metal brace that runs verticaly behind the deck and the hole in which you are trying to put the compartment. there are a few holes in this bracket, it will be obvious which one to use. I found that using an ordinary plastic wall anchor in the hole made it a lot easier to get the screw in. Just measure from the side of the opening to the hole so you know where to put the screw.

Hopefully this will help some poeple. This should apply to almost any single din size head unit. Enjoy!!
