Subaru WRX system - before and after

We are taking out a system in a WRX, and installing new speakers, amp, sub, and Ice>Link cradle. He is keeping only his Eclpise CD HU.

Here's what we took out

And here's what we are doing

I'll update the after pics as soon as the box is done and loaded.

Tks... : )

The 6's are only playing down to about 70 or so, but playing techno will make your pant legs flap around, with no sub in the car!

Small car, wants it to look stock except for the HU.

DLS is big in Europe but has only been imported to the US for the last two or three years. The US arm is in Florida. They don't have a big promo or ad budget, apparently their whole PR campaign is their IASCA competitors, so we can see how well that works out: )

But at Spring Break Nationals they had five cars running DLS and five first-places.

I hadn't heard of them until about 6 months ago here on this board (I think it was tuan209???) and so we went to their booth and listened to their two demo cars. That sold me.

Weird thing is, they make so many models. They have $99 six-inch coaxes and $99 10" woofers, and the amps start at $199 - all the way up to the way expensive Iridiums. I was only gonna use a few of their models but every time I try something so far I really like it. We were using a Nak 6" but when it was backordered we tried the DLS and now it's our best-selling door speaker... sounds fun, until you have to manage your inventory : )

He decided that he wanted an upholstered woofer grille.

This doesn't sit as flush as they usually do (it's best to spec that grille at the beginning

In the photo the grille looks as if it has a flat spot. Apparently it was a carpet thing and I think the final photos you won't see that artifact.

My installation manager DEFINITELY thought it looked better with the DLS grille. ; )

You know, I really might consider. The trunk box does get in the way at times.

Do you have a finnished hatch picture. One with the car's carpet back in place, so we can see the overall finnished product. BTW nice work.

Ty.

The car has a hatch-area cargo tray, which is the dark gray surface with the diagonal wide stripes...
