Hi all,

I just purchased a 98 5spd primrose. The exhuast manifold is cracked and I am stuck between just replacing stock or putting in headers. I don't want to spend much since this is my DD, has anyone tried the megan or dc-s ..ss headers on ebay. I had to hollow out the cat since it was bad and will be getting a test pipe off ebay as well.

Will the headers make it any louder with the stock exhaust ..or create any resonance, I would like to keep it as quite as possible.

if your goin quite stay with stock.... all upgraded headers are goin to give you a little rumble but depending on the brand you get the sound changes.....

 

Megan or dc is gonna be good. I dont know about the dc-s. They are the ones that are really cheap. Look for OBX as well.

 

if you want to keep your car quiet as possible dont get a test pipe. Get a real cat. You can upgrade your headers, but its not gonna do anything for you performance wise because you are still going to the stock exhaust piping.

 

I already hollowed out the cat and it's not loud at all the intake pretty much drowns everything out when I get on it. I don't mind a little extra rumble, I just don't want it to drone or resonate loudly while cruising.

 

well cat will make your car sounds raspy and poopy, so get a hiflo one if anything, no testpipe or ebay "hi flo" cat. and go dc sport or meagan or OBX, they are all good
