Can somody tell me the first few steps to get more horsepower out of my 1997 2.2cl, i'm used to driving a 210 hp infinity j30 and this car defintly needs some balls.

other than that you see slight gains off bolt-ons. CAI should be the first thing that you do.

 

yeah, and after a cai, upgrade your fuel system. cai's are great, but nobody uses them to the full potential. more air means you need more fuel.

 

If you want real power then drop a h22 engine into your CL..there are plenty of threads about what to do and how to do it....just do a search for it..

Its your opinion..i don't really know much about the turbo on a CL (knowledge wise)...i was just tellin him of an option he could do....that turbo though does sound damn good...how much did the whole thing cost you?

You can jack-up the battery, take out the 2.2CL, and install a J30.

the engine mounts are way different on the J30 and the F22/23

that's why all the people with the v-6 are stuck with it and cant upgrade to a 5spd or an H22.

Nitrous! Definitely nitrous (or a turbo if you got the $$$$)!

$$$$$$$$$$$$ this is too expensive of a choice if you wish to keep your car as a street car. if you want strictly race then go for it we need to see more cl's kikin ass! but if you use your car for everday driving it is illegal and un-smoggable unless you have special connections 2.2=sohc H22=dohc

 

i dont know about cali, but a OBDII h22 engine will pass all the smog test just fine, and the car will still be legal to drive.
