Dyno tuning a 3.0 v6?

I've talked to a few local shops about getting my car tuned, and no one seems to have the needed software for it? Is there a way to tune a 99 Acura Cl's engine with a dyno or anything? I know nothing about computers in cars yet so please let this be a learning experience for me

I have a thread with the posted dyno results from the tune on the 3.0 with an Apexi V-AFC II, but that thread is from 2004 so the pictures of said dyno are long gone. The vafc II was installed directly into the ecu by splicing the wires.

This link will basically point you in the right direction if you wish to make it plug n play, but its not a necessary harness. I'm not sure if the links within the thread are still active, but it'll put you in the right direction as to what to order if you do wish to make it plug n play.

A vafc II is as basic as it gets, if a shop cant tune that....run away.

You never got around to using it? And okay yeah I see what you're saying Cocoa. I want to gain some power, got around 1200 to spend, can you throw out some parts that would be the best to upgrade? 250 of it is going into new coil springs. I want to do mostly engine work with the cash

I forgot to mention the tune itself resulted in an additional of +12whp and +13lbs of torque to the wheels (at the time of tune I had pullies, intake, exhuast and headers).

As for parts, I would recommend the basics to free up horsepower. For that amount you can easily do a DIY 3" or 4" intake w/velocity stack filter for under $100 (cxracing.com), srs headers for $210 shipped (ebay), muffler of your choice (cost dependent upon choice) + install with 2.5" exhaust piping (ran me $100 for the install of the muffler + 2.5" piping, but for whatever reason I hear of others paying more in other states). This total will amount to roughly $600 IF you install the headers and intake on your own. With the remainder money you can pick up a used VAFC II for about $100 or buy new now for about $200, and get the tuning done by a shop with a dyno (ran me $175 for 3hrs of tuning because its basic air/fuel adjustment + change of vtec engagement). We cannot adjust timing, so that is why the tune was relatively inexpensive and does NOT require any fancy form of a piggy back system. Do not bother with any of the other piggy backs as they will cost more and you will NOT be able to make use of their additional features.

I believe with this total amount required for said results, it will give you some cushion to buy those springs.

Alright great man thank you that really helps me out. I appreciate the time and effort of your post and i'll look into those things. I currently have a catback exhaust that I custom welded, just bought piping at advanced and a tip but I'd like to do a full header back exhaust, with a high flow cat
