Hey guys.

I went to dyno/tune my car a few days ago. Gained about 10 hp after tuning. On the other post I posted 14 but I guess my eyes were playing tricks on me.

For those who didn't know. I dynoed in at 209 HP after tuning the vafc.

Don't know if the picture will work or not but here's the Link to it

CLiCK

YOu might have to save it, and enlarge it too see the #s. Didn't know how to scan it right.

Was the dyno SAE Corrected?

It's hard to read.

No disrespect, but 209 seems pretty high when the 3.0CL's base line is about 155-160 HP to the wheels. This means you gained about 50 HP to the wheels by adding i/h/e/VAFC/pulleys. That's a lot!

Not hatin', just jealous!

dust, I still don't know where you get this 155-160 baseline. All the guys on v6p.net are talking about 145-150

where did you get it done 99CL?

20-22% loss through the tranny: 200 HP minus 20% = 160; 200 HP minus 22% = 156.

I was pretty certain that I saw these on dynos. I'll double check. If I'm wrong, I'll gladly admit it.

25% was the norm for honda's auot trany's I thought. Or 23.5%. No one really knows. I'm just curious cause I think I dynoed around 146 stock.

well, lets just say stock is 150 hp

Comptech Header = 10-15 at most
UR Pully = 10-15 at most
Intake = 5 at most
Exhaust = 5 at most
VAFC = 10 at most

taking the max of all, it will be close to 200 already. and we all know the headers and Ur Pully cause the crank will put out more then 15 at high RPM.

Not saying your wrong, cause I know our car stock will be around 150 or so hp

when did Kitty get a dyno over at Autolink? Who was the tech that did your dyno?

Have they gotten their race car off the ground yet? I haven't been over then in well over a year.

who was the guy that use to do your bros work?

Dust, i still don't see a stock dyno over there. Who knows

Kitty got a dyno in maybe about a year ago from what my brother told me. The guy that works on his car was DR. C (forgot his name but it starts with a C) he used to work at PitCrew and I think had his own shop for awhile.

I think they got their race car off the ground. NOt sure. I hardy go their since I get most of my parts online (better price most of the times) or know people that works in the company direct.

Charles, left pit crew to go to import builders then went to Area 51. Good to see him and Kitty are working together now. My buddy Freddy who is my mechanic knows those guys real well I think he spent some timing working at Pit Crew when both Kitty and Charles were over there. Charles is a fucking God when it comes to honda tuning. Is he still driving the Civic w/ the k20a swap?

I had a dyno done when I first got my car and stock it was 158.5HP. Most dynos tend to read low. My last dyno was 167.3HP. That was with a CAI, free flow CAT, and free flow muffler. I haven't dyno'd since I put the headers on, but my track times improved by .5 sec.

What's your brothers name? I may know him. Ask him if he knows a tuner out here named Freddy or if he knows the Kao brothers.

Charles is always doing something. Last I saw him about a year ago he had a 99-02 civic w/ a k20a in it. Car was fuckin sweet

Yea, that's the era my buddies were in.

so ask him if he knows a Will or Mike Kao or a Freddy. They are close friends of mine, well Mike passed away last year . But they eventually opened up a shop called Car Toys in Pasadena, then another called GT Group. BUt they are all around that age too. From Arcadia.

AEM got 157.0 on a stock V6 Accord. Comptech got 161.

So, if we move stock to 160 and modify the list a tad:

Comptech Headers = 20
UR Pulley = 10
Intake = 5
Exhaust = 5
VAFC = 10

Then you have the ~210 that you got. I'm iffy on the VAFC pulling out that much power. I'm not suprised at the dyno tho, I'm pretty sure the 3.0 can be taken to over 200whp with bolt ons. This is why I was kinda :sqnteek: at FastvtecCL's dyno of only 250whp w/ a 125shot of nitrous. The nitrous shot should at LEAST put 75hp to the ground...

What kind of tq numbers did you get? I'd guess around ~175.

tuning your car always gives you more hp. thatz how the vafc gave him so much. cause now his car is running optimum, or full potential with all his goodies. With a fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pump, you could squeeze some more power in there....hehe

CLpower: My brother said he doesn't know those guys but he's sure he talked to them before if they kicked it at pit crew and stuff back then.

Duece: The place I got it dynoed at is called AutoLink in El Monte (I think) I'll let CLpower answer it. Pretty sure he knows better then me.

the place he went to is www.autolinkmotorworks.com

however, I and everyone I know gets theirs done at R&D Dyno in Gardena

www.rddyno.com

But we have our own tuner. So you may want to go to autolink since Charles is basically God when it comes to honda tuning.

The lowest i've heard of a dyno being able to hanle power is around 900, and there is no way you are gonna top that.

They basically did it until my vafc was tuned. They ran it like 5 times. But it only took about an hour to do. So the price was the same as the other places $150. Not sure if that's for everybody else though.
