Dying A/C Compressor
First chink in the armor...
It started two days ago...a whine like a supercharger, but it was coming from my A/C compressor.
I tried compressor oil today, and it's quiet only intermittently.
I'm thinking bearings, as tonight, I've started to smell burning belt.
Anyone have this problem before? I'm guessing about $800 for the dealer to fix it. It looks like a pretty straight forward to replace it, so I could do it myself, but I'm guessing $350 for a compressor. Ugh.
Any ideas?
