I had this happen to me last summer. My door jamb bolts were loose, and the mechanism had locked in place. I finally got it open and tightened the screws. Might want to see if thats the case with yours.

how exactly did u do that? cuz i unscrewed the screws on the door jamb but all i could do was move the mechanism around...so i screwed them back on and theres no difference...the door still needs to be pull open from the outside or pushed open from the inside with a lil excessive force...rather than it just clicking open...can anybody else help me out?

thanx in advance...

quit slamming the door.

loosen the U-bolt a little and line it up again with the dimples. if you look at it directly there should be a marks on the top and the right side.
