Driver Side Door Stuck

Hi All,

My driver's side door is stuck for some reason. I can't seem to open it. The locking mechanism locks and unlocks, but I can't physically move the door.

Anyone know what may have happened?

Also does anyone think it would be covered under the general warranty that came with the car?

Thanks and have a great weekend all!!!

Have you had any snow in the last few days?

It is really cold outside, but no snow.

There a whole bunch of sun out today, maybe it will thaw.

Thanks.

have you been slamming the door?

sometimes the U-bolt gets moved making the door more difficult to open. all you need is a philips head screwdriver.

loosen the U-bolt (make sure its a big screwdriver) and slide it back in the normal position.

just look at it, its easy to figure out.

try what everbody else said first before doing what i'm going to say. For me, my screws came loose once, and caused the door not to open. I didn't know what was wrong and pulled the door very hard. Since the screws were loosed, it took off the paint on the inside of the door, but it's okay can't see it. But for some reason the screws got loose, so maybe the same thing happened to yours.

ya, i had the same thing happen about a month ago - good thing my mom could run out to the garage and let me out of my car because i had a full ride of stuff. I went to Menards and bought the same matching bolts and tightened what was still in the door.

Hey 1genCL what exactley would I do with the Phillips screwdriver? I don't know where the UBolt is or would be?

Would I do it from outside the car, or inside the car?

Thanks.

theyll fix it for free but dont be surprised if it takes more than a day to "order the part"

I pulled the black trim off the door, and there were 2 screws and both were in place. I tightened them and it didn't really do anything...

When I took mine to the dealership they put a silicone base grease on the vertical part of the door, They put it on the flap. Works like a charm now. But it wears off when you wash your car. So you might want to buy it from the dealership?

They fixed it yesterday... Kinda a pain in the ass... they ripped my seat a bit, and I think they scratched the paint...

I HATE CAR DEALERS!!!
