these dr.evil trannys are no joke though... built to withstand 500hp or some shit? They're built out of fucking plutonium kryptonite steel shit.
Basically to buy one of these = youre supercharging your 3.0, dropping the clutch at every stoplight, and burnouts everytime you leave your house and the tranny would shine like a diamond.
(well maybe not that bad, but the supercharge part at least yes)

the price is not bad. i think it used to be what $5000(+/-) when they first introduced it? btw turbo>supercharger. with a 500hp tolerance on the tranny, id make a turbo kit for the 3.0cl with more power and possibly equal to the price of doing a comptech supercharged one. the shift points might have to be changed though depending on how fast full spool on the turbo will be.

From what I've seen on people that have reinforced transmissions; it just seems like the transmissions we have are just too faulty to ever fix. (mtnbiker)
I dunno, does anyone know about the doctor evil though? I would seriously love to jump all over this. I've been dreading having to sell this car off once it hits 100,000 miles, but if the dr. evil is for real, I'd love to keep it til' it explodes...

If you look at the forum, you would reallize that TURBO on a V-TEC is not an easy task... Comptech only makes an SC for the 3.0. And to be honnest, unless you are tricking it out for uniqueness, it isn't worth it. The CL was not meant to be a stock car, it was meant to be an entry-level lux. So, if you want to drive like the Bandit, go get you a HEMMI, otherwise... the best your gonna turn out of the J30 is around 310 whp with the COMPTECH SC.
Good luck, there are a few custom turbos out there.

02AV6 has a Dr evil transmission on his supercharged/intercooled/built internals accord v6 with 3.5 swap and is pushing around 351 whp I think, hasn't had a single problem in 15k miles on it .
I personally am in on the GB because I plan on keeping this car till it no longer runs. I'll be moving back in with the 'rents for a few months which should get me up to enough money for this. My tranny has been acting up anwyays.

Bottom line, whether you stock or highly modded doesn't matter. If you need a reliable tranny Dr. Evil is da shit

And I thought they were able to do the 2nd gen CL's too? (Basically making it a 4AT)

Not sure if Dr. Evil ever built 5AT for J32, but sure they can.

You guys wans a dead tranny to have them rebuild it? I'll sell mine if you want. I got mine replaced and still have the dead one in my warehouse. The lock up solenoid died and there are no gears when you try to shift. I dunno. Shoot me an offer...

It seems like a lot of people haven't heard about this tranny. This tranny is a complete internal rebuilt. There's a review by someone who 's got it on that site too.

I figure, if my tranny craps out after 100,000 miles, I would send it to Dr. Evil for them to replace instead of paying Acura ~$5,000 to get it re-done.

yep same exact transmission with every single part stronger and better than the stock ones. Also has LSD.
good luck trying to get a 6-speed swap for $4k. MAYBE if you do all the work yourself, and know how to do all the wiring and tricking the ecu stuff, then go ahead. I'd say the absolute minimum is $6k for the swap, plus you'd probably run into problems downt he line with having to replace clutches, other parts that weren't meant to be doing what they were doing.
