It works on certain cameras. Fox five tried with cops. It doesn't work in New York City and it works on some of them In boston. So your mileage may vary.

I’ve heard that it'll work on a regular picture but if they take the digital photo and view the black and white negative you can still see what it says.

i swear to god that 2nd pic has a white box chopped in over the license plate. look how the box goes just a bit past the edge of teh plate

Hell no! DC photo radar will get past it so don't try it there. I'm not sure about Monkey County's photo radar

At Tyson's mall in NOVA, I was walking past this Bimmer and I could not read his plates. I came back to the car and I was scratchign my head thinking. I bent my knees and lowered myself, and as I got lower I could read the plate. His plate cover had tiny grills on it, so that if you are low enough (sitting down in a car)you can read his plates but from anywhere higher than 5 feet you couldn't read his plates. Now that would defeat the cameras I'd say.

And probably a big fat ticket from the cops. That over $100 in New York. They give out tickets even for the those stupid plastic/metal frames over the plate.
