DIY Help

Can anyone do a DIY on how to install a sub up to a stock stereo. I know how to install everything except the wires to the stock harness in the deck and speaker wiring to the sub.

Dont do it that way! You will not be happy. Get yourself a cheap amp if anything.

should be fairly simple

youll have to use the speaker inputs on your amp cause i dont think the factory recievers have RCA outs to feed your amp.

so just splice into the rear deck speakers, can be done right from the trunk, and put it to the speaker inputs on the sub amp, you can use a single lead from one of your rear speakers for the remote signal.

doing it this way is the easiest but if you fade your sound to the front then your sub will not be as loud.... your rear speaker control is now also your sub control.

If you really want to do this, which I don't suggest. Get 2 line output converters, splice off your 2 rear speakers, and hook them into an amp. You're better off just getting a cheap head unit with rca outputs.

hey thanks guy, i dont really wanna buy a new deck because i wanna keep the stock stealthness. my buddy gave me a converter of some sorts which is exactly how you explained it. you splice into the rear speakers and plug the rcas from the amp into it i think is how it works. so hopefully that will be easy. do you just the remote from the amp to the speakers too?
