Did my first Autocross this weekend
I must say it was pretty fun to do it. I saw so many fine cars run the course, from new m3s to old crxs. The fastest run of the day was done by a girl driving a heavily modded CRX. Man, those things just fly around the course. For comparison, she did it in 47s and my best run was 62s (with a 1s penalty for skipping a cone
). With that time I beat a bunch of cars, some 300z's. The kyb/gax setup ran pretty well and my kumho's held up pretty well also, but a set of some r compound tires would have helped. Of course, during my third run it started pouring, so it was a bit harder to drive the course. But, then some WRXs came out and ran the course so easily with all the water,(53s in the rain!) needless to say I was quite amazed. AtlCl98 came out to it and hopefully should have some pics posted up soon. I would recommend doing this to everyone regardless of car or mods (there was a stock Daewoo running in my grid :sqnteek: ). Plus, you will get to see some real nice cars run the course and lots of rear wheel drive cars spinning out on the last turn!. Oh yeah, this also made me realize how long we have to pull to shift gears.

I did 4 runs:
1st : 67s (was taking it easy trying to learn)
2nd: 62s (figured why not have fun, did better than a bunch of sports cars on that run)
3rd: 65s (pouring rain and lots of tire spin)
4th: 70s (couldn't see the course because rain washed away the white lines and the cones were too spread out, kept veering outside of it)
CRXs: high 40s
miatas: low 50s (damn small light cars)
M coupes: low 50s
moded vettes: really high 40s/really low 50s
WRXs: low 50s in the rain
no Cls at all.
