You can fuck your car up no matter what you are doing it just depends on how well you do it.

I took mine off, looks pretty good. Floss will get the tags off, but the adhesive will still be on. I took a blow drier to the adhesive to get it all gooey and then just picked it off with a credit card. Afterwards there was a faint outline so I used rubbing compound to cover it up. Took a while and it was pretty tedius but well worth it.

Oh also, the "A" in the center has pins that go into the trunk, so unless you want to fill in the holes and repaint dont try with that one. The other two are just glued on.

I've debadged mine using a heat gun and fishing line. No problems at all, just took some time to remove all that adhesive.

I did mine with floss and Goo Gone afterwards. Came off easy.

Nobody can promise you, you won't mess it up, but if you mess up a job as easy as this, we'll all at you.

just make sure you heat it up real good to get the adhesive loose. I dont think you'd fuck up your car, just use common sense

Go slow and don't be impatient. Took me about 30 minutes with Goo Gone, hair dryer, and fingernails.

Weird thing was a small piece of paint was missing under part of the Acura and it wasn't on the adhesive. Makes me believe that someone had replaced that part before and wasn't careful about removing the original.

Luckily, it's not that noticable.

Don't worry @ all about it. You have no idea how scared I was when I did mine a couple of weeks ago too. I left the Acura A on though cause I don't want those pin holes up in there.

In any case. Brianlin (on the boards here) just straight up took some sort of gift card he had and pried my shit off. It left all the glue there and though.

Took a bottle of goo gone, and a whole bunch of disposable soft cloths and wiped that shit off. It left outlines in the shape of my letters as well as a bit of paint fading.

Used claybar + polish, and that shit came right off and away.

You'll be so happy you did it.

Did you do all this over an extended period of time?

Unfortunately, yes I did. I was all freaked out for a week. Cause I thought the outlines and "paint fade" wouldn't go away.

This was the timeline:

On a Saturday, Brianlin took my emblems off and handed 'em too me in a plastic bag. Glue/double sided tape residue stayed on.

Sunday the next day, I used goo gone and you could still see the outlines and fade.

Left the car like that for a week in a parking garage and gathered information on these boards while freaking out. ((I have a dark blue car, so I was scared that shit would never come off)).

Saturday of the following week, I took some claybar to the back, plus Meguiar's Scratch X, and used a microfiber towel. And all was good.

I might have gone alil' overboard, I've been told all you need to do is get some simple wax and buff it on out.
