D4 and check engine

Well after getting the starter replaced, my check engine light came on. But I just noticed that I have a blink D4. I did some searches and it does not look good. My car so far is running fine and I doesn't feel like it is slipping at all. Anybody know if there is a chart for the tranny sensors etc. I did a search and I couldn't find it. Thanks.

The check engine light is stays on. But the D4 does not flash. I tried the paper clip trick and it gives these codes:

The check engine light gives: 78
The D4 light flashes: 25, 7, 16

I tried reseting the ecu by pulling the fuse but it doesn't seem to clear it out.

if the D4 is blinking, it usually means your speed sensor needs to be replaced.

most likely while your traveling on the freeway, the speedo reads 60 then drops down to 0 and back up to 100 and back down to 0 and so on and so on..

try replacing the speed sensor before assuming its your tranny

Well so far, it does do any of that. I think this weekend I going to try to disconnect the battery and then reconnect it instead of pulling out the ECU fuse. It been raining like a bitch so I don't want to do this in the rain. Hopefully tom it be nice. but in the mean time i been searching around for a tranny. I emailed dr evil just curious wat a tranny would cost from them. Here are the prices:

Street Evil $2110.00
Reprogrammed valve body, New OEM solenoids, Upgraded clutches, Stock Converter

Pure Evil $2650.00
Reprogrammed valve body, New OEM solenoids, Upgraded clutches, HD converter.

Max Evil $4000.00
Reprogrammed valve body, New OEM solenoids, Raybestos Blue Plate Racing Clutches, HD converter, LSD differential

Core deposit is $500.00

Roundtrip freight $240.00

We remanufacture while other companies rebuild.
* Remanufacture - To manufacture into a new product.
* Rebuild - To make extensive repairs to.

This is for our car on the 2.3 model. Looks like i have an option to rebuilding it, which i see from post that it can range from 1800-2500. So it gonna be the cost up there plus install cost.

no no no no make sure they grounded the wires they removed when they changed the starter. it will be a big ass loop with bout 5-6 wires attatched to it. it is supposed to be grounded to the block. if not most of the sensors will not work right. also make sure none of the other sensors are disconnected or maybee u smashed the connector. oh yea its pretty cold here in turkey. and wil is still a cool ass dude. that is all.

Ok new update. I cleaned off the wires and took off the battery this time. So far after 100 miles of driving I have no more check engine light. Thanks god. But it seems like I am in the clear till the next repair. But this little scare made me check how much a dr evil tranny is for the 2.3. I think i put that in the to do like if I decide to do a h22 swap. It would be a nice combo, dr evil tranny and then h22 or maybe even turbo if i keep the car long enough.
