CUSTOM GRILL FOR 1st GEN

ST2000 has been making some custom grills for the 2nd gen's, pretty plug and play if you asked me, it looks pretty damn clean too

i asked on their post if he was willing to do some 1st gen grills, and he said we just needed to get him a template, anyone down to doing this? I would but i'm typically strapped for time, too busy with school, but I thought this would be a good idea

and since so many people hopped on the door sill groupbuy, i was thinking the demand for this would be pretty decent too

http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...5&pagenumber=2

there's his thread, he's got some pics of the 2nd grills there,

so again, if anyone's got some free time, maybe we can get this started

it looks like a normal mesh cut out to me. I can do that myself for those prices i have seen. I like Klepto's idea though...... Who's grille is that again? Did he do that fiberglass work himself?

Are there any pictures of the "prototype"? What year will these grills be for, the 97's with the horizontal design, or the 98-99's with the vertical design? Or are they the lower grill?

He had his city lights turn on when he turns on the car, like some of the new camrys and lexus cars. He either rewire or put in a whole new bulb, i dunno

I like it! It looks better w/ the "A" then w/o like in the first pic. So what's the deal on producing these?

He did all the fiberglass himself? He did a preatty good job! I remember the pics of the how to, and it was a 98/99 grille though. He cut out all the insides, then, i guess glassed the entire frame. I wonder how hard that would be to do.......

damn... i want that grill too (on YBlegals). That's what I've been trying to find for a while now

A lot of people put in the yellow city lights for highbeams after HIDs because real highbeams just look ghetto :o They could be re-wired to be on all the time... or they could just come on like normal highbeams.. a friend of mine did that on his legend.

hmm.. so once he hacked out the middle part of the grill, did he then lay fiberglass over the remaining bumps to make it smooth?

Get the paint code from the side of your door and bring it to a body shop. They would prob only charge like $40-50 for a job like that. Otherwise, buy the paint off them.

Sorry I just remember him asking for my 97 grill but thinking about it you are probably right. As for doing it himself he wanted to and im pretty sure he did
