meineke
How do you spell it?? Meineke ??? well what ever. Thats where I went to add my muffler (s) to my 3.0.. I had them route the exhaust to the other side too. It comes out like the newer accord V6 models. I cut an outlet from the rear bumper. came out pretty smooth. It looks and sounds sooooo sweet! I dont know how much of a gain it had , if any, but I think it was worth it, and so does everyone else that has seen it. They charged $120 for supplies and labor... Of course I bought the mufflers seperate. They did a pretty good job imo.
mufflers
The mufflers, I bought from a local shop- RACTIVE- straight through design ( 2 ). They were like $110- 130 each, cant remember. The piping was the same diameter as the factory. They didnt do mandrel bending pipes but used the same I believe 2 1/4" piping. That size is actually big enough unless you are running some serious power adders. All I have right now is the AEM CAI, plugs/wires, and of course that exhaust set up. Not a lot in performance mods right now. The other stuff is Eibach prokit springs, 18" Konig Tantrums, clear bumper lenses and blue lights across the front. SUCKER SOUNDS BAD ASS with the intake and exhaust combo. actually bout to sell the car. Been in the hands of a fokin retard mechanic for 6 months!!!! DAMNED TRANSMISSION WENT OUT
!!!!!!! I'm not dealing with a rebuilt one for long. Lookin at getting a Lude 5 speed

thanks for the help jo. i actually got my springs today, finally. im eventually getting headers 50 shot nos and pullies so im thinking about getting 2 3/4 inch piping with an N1 muffler. i agree that anything bigger would need some major power comin through it.
No problem man, good luck with the set up! Hope the tranny can handle up on the 50 shot! Id love to have headers too, but my finantial situation doesnt allow for that. Oh well... sounds like you have yourself a nice ride!

Hey wasup guys. yeah i want to do that dual exhaust custom job on my 3.0 but i was wondering about that bumper to..so you just cut out the shape for it and it looks good and everything? oh another thing, im looking to get me some springs to drop it a little what size should i get and brand if i have 18"s with 40 series tires?? thanks for your help. tomas
Hey Tomas,
My springs are the Eibach Pro-Kit springs... I think its a 1.4 inch drop all the way around.. THEY RIDE GREAT! I have 18" Tantrums with 40 series rubber also. When I first put em on with stock springs, it felt a little rough but looked nice. After I added the Eibacks,, Oh my god it felt so smooth.... the ride is awsome and the looks are so tight.. It handle soooo much better too man! I would suggest the Eibachs. I did have Intrax springs on my old stang 5.0 that dropped it 2" but rode like hell. It looked real clean but it was very rough.
The exhaust looks sweet man! All I did was cut out an exit hole on the other side in the same shape as the original side. May have to sand down the edges so it doesnt look too rough, but ya it looks real good. There is one thing though, on the side you want to cut, there is a piece the bolts to the car to hold the bumper from moving around. I cut it off- but have had NO PROBLEMS with a vibrating bumper or anything. You dont really need that piece. If you are uncomfortable cut your bumper, then dont do it. Just make sure you measure everything to be sure its in the same spot as the right side or else it will look a bit off.
Dude, this is a long post. I'll chill now

I recently just put an exhaust on my CL. I got an OBX dual tipped muffler, and got custom piping done as well. I'm not sure if I got 2.5" or 2.25" piping...but the place that I went to didn't do mandrel bending. How much of a difference does mandrel bending make? I know it'll increase air-flow, but can you actually feel the difference? Nevertheless, I noticed a huge difference from my stock exhaust to my new exhaust. I think my stock was falling apart...it was rusted like crazy and it rattled when I was tryin to accelerate in higher gear. Now it's so much better. And the sound...*sigh....the sound is so sweet. I got my exhaust for $95 shipped (contacted the ebay seller directly to negotiate) and payed $90 for the custom piping.
Man, I wish I could have gotten a full exhaust for my car, but there isnt one specifically for the 3.0 CL. I heard the 97 V6 Accord exhaust would fit but I didnt wanna take the chance of it not workin and have to send it back and shyte. I LOVE the way the 3.0 roars with my custom duals. I am pretty sure now that the piping is 2.25 ( factory spec ). I believe the mandrel bends do make a slight difference if its a full cat back, but I dont know for positive b/c mine isnt mandrel. So dunno. My guess would be that It makes a little difference in performance and probably a cleaner sound. Who ever else has a AEM CAI/ aftermarket duals would probably agree that there is not another sound like it on a car in its class anyway. I had to let my younger bro drive it at haul ass speeds in front of me while I stood in the front yard listening to it growl and wind out down the road.. DAAAAAAAAAAAMNED Im gonna miss that car when I sell it.
Hey thanks for all the help..yeah I think im gonna do the exhaust this weekend...if i have the money..hopefully but anywayz thanks again man and ill probably get those springs in the next month..oh yeah where did you get them..do they sell them everywhere or at a specific place or internet site. thanks again..tomas
springs
hey man, I got the springs through a local shop who ordered them straight from the factory or distributor or whatever. You can probably order them on line from most speedshops or suspension distributors and shyte. They ride nice. Good luck man!

I've been wanting to do the same thing but I want to see how low the secound muffler hangs, with the well for the spare tire, I figure it has to be mounted low.
no pics
sorry man, I dont have any pics that I can post. I dont have a digicam or know anyone who has one to borrow. I will tell you this. I thought that it wouldnt clear the tire well too. I was ready to bang that thing in to add the other muffler. When they routed it to that side, it did clear it. It doesnt hang any lower than the right side. Just be sure to have them check the angle a couple times to make sure it is even. Mine is not noticeable, but it is angled up a hair more than the right side. I think it was worth it for sure. I love the look and the sound! It has a nice growl to it. After adding the AEM CAI, the sucker sounds like a race car of some kind. Its not annoyingly loud like some civics and accords in my area, but when you get on it the sound is incredible!
hey ghander,
you have 2 1/2" piping? If so, could you feel a difference over stock size ( I think 2 1/4 " ) ? Just curious. I didnt have the $$ to have the entire exhaust system replaced with bigger pipe.
