Current project...
Taking the dimensions to work tomorrow to order the lexan for the rear windows. The front driver and passenger windows will be replaced with nets, and the front window will be left alone for now. It's illegal for me to replace it and drive with it on the streets. So I'm sure I'll drive the car to one or two more meets before submitting her as a non-moving vehicle to the Texas DMV. I should get the lexan by the following day and I'm bringing the car to work on Saturday to install it with some help.

Not exciting pics or anything, but something new nevertheless.

Seeing the roof in person was definitely a trip, painting it would make it look more sleeper, personally aside from the swap, the d-plate roof and bullet hole are my fav parts of cocoa's CL.

There's another project I might jump on within the next few weeks. I'm looking into replacing my steel fender wells with aluminum. It's something we're discussing between me and the guy helping me out (he's built plenty of race cars from the ground up). We have all the supplies to do it at my work place minus some small things if that.

Do not attempt this if you have a weak stomach. In fact, I recommend you have a shop do this for you if you want to go this route.
I got up at 7:30am and just now finally got out the shower at 7ish pm. This was an all day project. I went at it for 7 hours straight non stop without food. The other 5 hours were spent on numerous of things.
I'll say it right now, I don't like the clear silicone I went with. I do plan on taping the outter lexan with some sort of sticky black substance to hide it. That will also cover the rivets which doesn't matter to me.
I attempted to take the glass out without breaking it. The first small window was almost out when it shattered at the last tip of taking it off. After that I grabbed a sledge hammer and had my way with the other two.
I noticed a significant difference in weight between the total weight of the lexan compared with the shattered rear window held together by tape. I would say it honestly had taken a good 50-60 lbs off all together minimum.
I'm exhausted, and will post pics up shortly. I can't think of anything else I wanted to say as I'm in a hurry to grab another beer and chill.
Peace.
