I wasn't sure if I should cry or scream. On Saturday afternoon I was leaving soccer practice. I had just tossed my stuff into the trunk and was opening the door. Then I see a car approaching the empty parking space next to me from an odd angle. The driver starts her turn too late and rams right into the corner of my rear bumper.

She was going slow, but the impact pushed the corner of the bumper in, bubbled up the paint, and left a big black streak. So what does she do? She just sits there, staring at me. Then she rolls down the window and asks me if it's my car. I was about ready to jump out of my skin, but my daughter was standing next to me, so I decided to be calm. I told her it might be a good idea if she'd back up, turn off the car and give me her insurance information. It turns out she's related to someone on my team. She is 16 years old, had just gotten her license, and she was on her very first solo drive.

I glad I remained calm, but I'm so pissed. This is the second time in 6 months that my CL will be in the body shop because of someone else. The last time was because a valet in my office building backed my car into a wall. This sucks.

 

eek, at least you were there to see it, there is a 100 percent chance if you were not there she just would have left.

 

maybee everyone needs to park thier toys for a while. i was just hit last week. that sucks about the bumper. ur like the 5th person this month. pretty soon all of us are gonna have matching dents.

 

i got hit in december and he said it was my fault, a side swipe my fault, ha

he'll get his when i ask for 25,000 cause i was injured, neck and back pain, he lied about the accident and said it was my fault, and was still in denial till the day that they accepted liability

soon i get my chack for my rental car, should be at least a grand or so

 

Agreed. The valet who scratched up my bumper didn't tell me that he did it - he was hoping I wouldn't notice and drive off the lot. I noticed it and was pissed when didn't tell me. That little omission cost him his job.

man i bet if u start scream she would of bust out crying....good job on keeping calm tho....i would of scream out a storm if my car just got out the body shop 6month ago and now its going back.

 

i'm think screaming would be the best solution.

I got bumped in the rear, and the side of my bumper was falling out, so the estimate was $644, but my mom got $500 cash from them. I just kept the money. The car is really easy to fix....just put a screw in. So I made an easy $500

 

I'm lucky that it will be covered by insurance, but as all you who have been recently bumped/sideswiped/dinged/hit know, it's damn frustrating, and I hate the fact that I'll be without my car for a week.

 

Bro, it fuckin sucks bein carless, i havent had mine for going on 2 wks now. Sorry to hear that happened to you, but at least u were there, cuz she woulda bailed.

 

There is just no fucking way to keep a car nice anymore, unless you stick it in a garage and never drive.

People suck, they really do. This country is becoming over run with irresponsibility, overpopulation and sheer idiocy.

you're telling me...i got hit by a cab driver who ran a red light last week...car will be in the shop for about a month. first estimate is $2,300.

I didn't even claim my last bumper damage. The fucking parking attendant scraped the wall with the corner of my front bumper. I'm sick of taking it to the body shop! :thumbsdn:
